A marshy reserve near Czarna Białostocka — a tangle of trunks, roots, branches, and windthrows woven with moss. From this vast, overgrown peatland a hill rises unexpectedly, where two crosses commemorate January Uprising insurgents who once hid in the forest from the tsarist soldiers.
