MŁYNOWA
For some, the area around Młynowa was an embarrassing fragment of a village inside the city. For others, it was land to sell off to developers. Others still saw it as a testament to Białystok’s identity — a miraculously preserved postcard from the past.
It doesn’t matter now. It’s gone.
Instead of wooden houses there are apartment blocks crammed together. Instead of gardens there are wide roads, and so on.
I exposed these frames years ago. Even then it was clear there was no time left for a full documentation, but I still thought I had enough time to photograph the most interesting buildings.
I didn’t.
I’m glad I managed to make at least these few frames.
